Lankelma was established in the UK in 1999, with Eric Zon moving from Lankelma Netherlands to be Managing Director and a shareholder. Lankelma Netherlands took a 50% share and Ben Magee joined as Operations Director and shareholder.
In 2004, Lankelma Netherlands sold its shares to Gardline Shipping Ltd, part of the Gardline Group, one of the UK’s largest independently owned marine geophysical, environmental and hydrographic survey companies. This relationship enabled Lankelma to grow its operations, particularly in the development of its marine offering.
With the sale of the Gardline Group to Boskalis in August 2017, Lankelma returned to private ownership, with Eric Zon remaining as Managing Director and shareholder. Eric retired from his roles as MD of Gardline Geosciences Ltd and Gardline Group Business Development Director, to focus solely on managing and growing Lankelma’s global onshore and marine business.
In 2022, Lankelma joined the ConeTec Group, a full-service geotechnical and geoenvironmental site investigation contractor with offices throughout North and South America, Australia, and South Africa. Lankelma’s worldwide reputation for safety, innovation, and quality fits perfectly within the ConeTec global ambition. This is an opportunity for Lankelma to continue to lead the growing UK market, while enhancing our capabilities, technology, and geographic reach as a part of the wider ConeTec Group.
