The cone penetration test (CPT) involves pushing a cone penetrometer – the cone – on the end of a series of rods, vertically into the ground at a constant rate of 20mm per second, to depths of up to 100m.
We provide piezocone testing, as well as a number of specialist cones that can be run concurrently to test different geological environments and evaluate a range of soil parameters. The CPT platform is also useful for sampling and geotechnical installations.
Allowing on-site selection of the best locations for testing, sampling and monitoring
CPT is quiet, with no vibrations and minimal soil disturbance, creating very little waste
A great way for you and your team to find out more about CPT and its benefits is a Lankelma webinar.
Tailored to specific needs and experience of CPT, the webinars cover anything from first principles, to specific applications such as railways, contaminated land and nearshore and marine projects.
To book, and discuss requirements, please contact us at info@lankelma.com.
Lankelma has also published a textbook, In-situ soil testing, by JJ M Brouwer. This useful overview of CPT provides information on testing, sampling and instrumentation for land, nearshore and marine projects. More than 25 cone penetrometers, instrumentation devices and samplers are described.
