UXO Testing at Farringdon Station

Lankelma undertook 72 combined magnetometer cone tests in 4 shifts of 12hrs for Network Rail/Costain Laing O'Rourke at Farringdon Station, as part of the Thameslink refurbishment.

This combined system allows for the detection of ferrous items to be run concurrently with piezocone tests.   Testing was carried out at pile locations for the new extended platform.  With UXO data being assessed on site, the piling crews could start work without delay.

Both our rail truck (UK12) and excavator mounted unit (UK14) were deployed, with access gained at Snow Hill car park and Black Friars Bridge.
