Dissipation Tests
|
Dissipation testing capability Piezocones have the capability to acquire pore pressure data verses time. At anytime during a CPT test, the push can be paused to record the pore pressure dissipation as it approaches static equilibrium. The data is viewed in real time on a log scale. Without any modifications to the system, these additional subsurface properties can be acquired:
- groundwater table
- compressibility
- permeability

Advantages The time required, from seconds to hours, is fully dependent on the soil. No setup time is required to initiate a test. A dissipation test can be performed at any time during a CPT test, allowing a real time decision regarding the depth(s) of the test(s). Acquisition is viewed in real time on a log graph, offering the client immediate observations to locate sample depths. All advantages of a typical CPT test apply to dissipation tests, as no further modifications to the system are required. Click here to download this information
