Cone penetrometers, generally referred to as cones, are pushed into the ground at a constant rate on the end of a series of rods. Measurements, which are instantly available, are taken every 2cm (see guide to CPT). A huge range of soil parameters can be gained as evidenced by the list of cones below. To date, Lankelma has a repertoire of 17 cones. The most frequently used are the CF cone and the Piezocone. Diagram of a CF Cone
