1999    The start

Eric Zon (MD), Ben Magee (Operations Director) and Richard Garcia Cruz started Lankelma in the United Kingdom in 1999.  Since then, Lankelma has become the UK's leading cone penetration testing provider.

Lankelma started in the marine industry as a sub contractor.  Nearshore testing was carried out off jack-up platforms.  Lankelma then progressed to carrying out cable route surveys.  In July 2006, Lankelma acquired Andrews Survey, Great Yarmouth, to become Lankelma Andrews.
   
In 2007 Lankelma Andrews merged with Gardline Geosciences to become Gardline Lankelma. And in 2008, Gardline Lankelma was fully integrated with Gardline Geosciences. Eric Zon, Gardline Lankelma MD, was appointed Gardline Geosciences MD.

2003    Gardline
 
In November 2003 Lankelma became part of the Gardline Group, www.gardline.com.  Gardline  is the UK's largest independently owned marine geophysical, geotechnical, environmental and hydrographic survey company. This has given Lankelma access to extensive health and safety programs, ships and a worldwide network. 
 
  
2008    Lankelma Green Energy
 
As of January 2008, Lankelma Green Energy started trading. The renewables branch of Lankelma, LGE installs ground source heat exchangers by pushing them vertically into the ground. This method originated in The Netherlands and has been developed by Lankelma since 2005. LGE also offers a thermal response testing service.
    
 
2008    Gardline Lankelma in the UAE
  
Lankelma has a new 6 x 6 truck permanently stationed in Abu Dhabi. The Lankelma and Gardline Geosciences offices offer geotechnical site investigation and the installation of instrumentation onland, overwater, nearshore and offshore.
  
 
2009    Lankelma Inc, USA
 
In January 2009, Lankelma acquired the ARA geotechnical and environmental site investigation services branch in Houston, Texas.
   
Lankelma Inc's vast experience of environmental cones enables Lankelma Ltd, in the UK, to offer these services to the British and European markets. Vice versa, the vast geotechnical knowledge of Lankelma Ltd is added to the arsenal of Lankelma Inc.
